Conversion Pixels

What Is a Pixel?

A pixel is a unique tracking URL. Whenever that URL is loaded, EuroMetrics records a hit. Pixels let you measure conversions in places where you cannot run the JavaScript tracker: for example, inside an email, or on a third-party page where you can only place a link or an image.

Where to Find Pixels

Click Pixels in the main navigation. This opens the list of your pixels, each linking to its own detail page with stats.

Creating a Pixel

  1. On the Pixels page, click Add Pixel.
  2. Enter a Name (for example, “Newsletter June open”).
  3. The Link field shows the generated pixel URL, something like https://pixels.eurometrics.eu/abc123xyz. Use the refresh button if you want a different slug.
  4. Click Save.

Using the Pixel URL

Copy the pixel URL and place it wherever you want to count loads:

  • In an email: embed it as an invisible image to count opens:
    <img src="https://pixels.eurometrics.eu/abc123xyz" width="1" height="1" alt="" />
  • As a link: use it as a redirect or click target on an external page.
  • On a page without the tracker: load it where you cannot install the script.

Reading Pixel Stats

Open a pixel to see its detail page, which shows the same kind of metrics as a website report:

  • Visitor, session, and event counts (with optional period-over-period comparison).
  • A trend chart over your selected date range.
  • Breakdown panels for the traffic that hit the pixel.

You can edit a pixel’s name or delete it from the list at any time. The number of pixels you have created appears under Lifetime Totals on the Usage page.
